In the spirit of April Fool’s Day, two colleagues of mine and I completely covered the office of another colleage of ours with Post-Its last night. Blue, pink, orange, yellow, green and white. We raided all the pads of colored Post-Its we could find from all over our office and coated every single surface of his desk, drawers, computer, phone, cabinets, and his framed clipping from when he was quoted in the Wall Street Journal (what a tool…). When he walked in to his office this morning – being the cheerful British chap he is – he simply said, “I’m going to kill all you mother fuckers” and sat down at his desk Ah, the joys of April Fool’s Day…
Here’s a picture of his office:

In contrast to the probably dozens of trees we wasted in Post-Its, a more environmental medium for an April Fool’s Day prank is the internet. Google had its fair share of pranks (as usual) today. Here’s a brief run down of the ones I found (there are still a few more out there):
- Project Virgle – project between Google and Virgin that would establish a colony on Mars
- Gmail Custom Time – ability to change the timestamp on emails
- Google Books Scratch and Sniff – Google Books function that gives you the ability to smell the books through your computer monitor
- Google Future Search (Australia) – a new search engine that allows users to search a day in advance of real time
- Google Meat (China) – a variation of the Google China search engine where people replace the Google search algorithms
- Google Docs Airplane – Google Docs gives you the ability to create a “new airplane” in addition to a new doc

dude I saw that.. fricken hilarious man. I was walking tot he kitchen the night before it and all of sudden I’m stopped by all the beautiful colors. ^^
you should have videotaped his reaction =P
Good form.
